High-energy-resolution laboratory X-ray spectroscopy offers X-ray techniques that can partially substitute experiments traditionally thought to be efficiently conducted only at synchrotron radiation facilities. The demand for the information provided by these techniques has led to the formation of a growing dedicated community. The first workshops of this community were held at the University of Helsinki, Finland, in November 2022 and at the Technische Universität Berlin, Germany, in October 2023.
We are pleased to announce the third workshop in this series, which will take place in the HUN-REN Research Centre for Natural Sciences, Budapest, October 3-4. The focus will again be on laboratory-based X-ray emission and absorption spectroscopy and their applications. In addition to the talks, we invite all participants to actively take part in the poster session, which will allow for extended discussions.
Please note that this workshop is not introductory: we anticipate that attendees have at least a basic understanding of X-ray spectroscopy utilizing crystal spectrometers.
A day before the meeting, on October 2, we will provide a limited number of students with an opportunity for hands-on practice at a different location, the HUN-REN Wigner Research Centre for Physics.
The Lab-X³ workshop is organized by:
• HUN-REN Wigner Research Centre for Physics
• HUN-REN Research Centre for Natural Sciences
• Pannon-QC Ltd.
